NDIS Short-Term Accommodation (STA)
Life can be rewarding but also demanding when living with disability or supporting a loved one with additional needs. At 7Days Care WA, we believe that every individual deserves not just care, but also opportunities for rest, growth, and new experiences. That’s why we offer Short-Term Accommodation (STA)—a flexible and personalised support option funded by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Our STA services are more than temporary stays—they are transformative experiences designed to give participants a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment while providing families and carers the peace of mind and rest they need.
Short-Term Accommodation (STA)?
Short-Term Accommodation, also known as respite care, is an NDIS-funded support where participants stay away from their usual home for a short period, usually up to 14 consecutive days.
But at 7Days Care WA, STA is more than just “time away.” We design each stay to be goal-driven and participant-centred. This means while you enjoy a change of environment, you also engage in activities that build skills, enhance independence, and expand social connections.
Our STA homes are safe, modern, and fully accessible, ensuring every participant feels comfortable, respected, and included—just like they would in their own home.
Who is STA For?
STA is designed to support a wide range of participants and families. It is especially beneficial for:
-
NDIS participants seeking independence: A chance to experience life away from home in a supported environment.
-
Individuals building confidence: Perfect for those wanting to practice daily living skills in a supportive setting.
-
Participants transitioning to new housing: STA can act as a stepping stone before moving into Supported Independent Living (SIL) or Individualised Living Options (ILO).
-
Emergency situations: When urgent, short-term care is needed.
At 7Days Care WA, we tailor STA to your unique circumstances. Whether you’re looking for a weekend break, a trial stay before moving into supported housing, or respite during a family emergency, our team is here to support you every step of the way.

What STA Does Not Cover
While STA offers many benefits, it’s important to know its limitations. STA under the NDIS does not cover:
-
Long-term or permanent accommodation.
-
Daily household expenses not related to your stay (like family groceries at home).
-
Non-disability related personal costs (such as entertainment subscriptions or luxury items).
For longer-term housing and high-support needs, 7Days Care WA also provides SIL (Supported Independent Living) and SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation).
At 7Days Care WA, Short-Term Accommodation is not just about rest—it’s about renewal, growth, and opportunity. For participants, it’s a chance to develop independence and explore life beyond their home. For families, it’s a chance to recharge and regain balance.
Take the first step today—because care is not just about support, it’s about living life fully.
