Individualised Living Options (ILO)

Individualised Living Options (ILO) is an NDIS-funded flexible living arrangement that puts you in charge of how and where you live. Unlike traditional models of accommodation, ILO is not about “placing” you in a set housing option — it’s about designing a home life that reflects your choices, goals, and independence.

At 7Days Care WA, we believe that a home should feel safe, comfortable, and uniquely yours. That’s why our ILO support services focus on building living arrangements around you — not the other way around. Whether you want to live alone, with a friend, or in a supportive host family, our team partners with you to create a plan that matches your lifestyle.

Who is ILO For?

ILO is ideal for NDIS participants who want greater choice and flexibility in their living arrangements. You may benefit from ILO if you:

  • Want to decide who you live with and where.

  • Don’t require intensive 24/7 care (as in Supported Independent Living).

  • Prefer a personalised and community-based alternative to group homes.

  • Wish to build skills for independent living in a safe and supported way.

  • Need adaptable supports that can grow or reduce as your needs change.

At 7Days Care WA, we understand that every participant has unique aspirations. That’s why we work closely with you, your family, and your support network to make sure your ILO arrangement truly represents your vision for home and independence.

Building Long-Term Independence

ILO is designed with the future in mind. At 7Days Care WA, we see ILO as a pathway to greater freedom and confidence. Over time, participants often:

  • Move from daily supports to occasional check-ins.

  • Build stronger social networks, reducing reliance on formal support.

  • Learn skills to manage finances, health, and daily living independently.

  • Feel more empowered to pursue work, study, or hobbies.

ILO is not just about where you live today — it’s about preparing you to live well tomorrow.

How 7Days Care WA Supports You in ILO

At 7Days Care WA, we do more than just “provide” support — we partner with you to co-create your home life. Our approach includes:

Person-Centred Planning

We listen deeply to your needs, preferences, and long-term goals.

Cultural Sensitivity

We respect cultural backgrounds and adapt living arrangements to suit your values and traditions.

Family Involvement

Where appropriate, we involve family, friends, and other supports in the planning process.

Transparency

You’ll always know exactly what’s included in your ILO package and how your NDIS funds are being used.

Consistency & Reliability

We ensure that the right supports are in place at the right times — so you feel secure at home.

Types of ILO Supports

ILO supports are designed to be flexible and scalable, depending on your needs. At 7Days Care WA, we help you choose the right mix:

Exploration and Design

  • We start by working with you to explore your vision of home life.

  • Together, we design a tailored ILO plan that outlines your preferences, supports, and goals.

Implementation and Ongoing Support

  • Once your ILO is approved, we help you set up the living arrangement.

  • This could include training housemates, coordinating supports, or arranging regular check-ins.

Flexible Support Models

  • Occasional support (drop-in assistance).

  • Shared supports between housemates.

  • Live-in supports (if needed).

  • Host family arrangements.

Monitoring and Adjustment

  • ILO is not fixed — supports can grow, reduce, or adapt as your life changes.

  • We provide ongoing monitoring to ensure your arrangement remains safe, sustainable, and aligned with your goals.

What Does ILO Include?

ILO isn’t a “one-size-fits-all” model — it’s a menu of options that can be combined to suit your goals. With 7Days Care WA, ILO can include:

  • Designing Your Home Life – Planning where you want to live, who you want to live with, and what level of support you’d like.

  • Daily Living Support – Assistance with cooking, cleaning, shopping, or developing self-care routines.

  • Skill-Building – Helping you develop confidence in independent tasks such as budgeting, travelling, or household management.

  • Safety and Wellbeing Checks – Scheduled visits or calls to ensure you feel secure and supported.

  • Relationship Support – Building positive connections with housemates, family, and the community.

  • Flexible Living Options – Including:

    • Living alone with visiting support.

    • Sharing a home with friends or chosen companions.

    • Living with a supportive host family.

    • Blended or rotating support arrangements.

With ILO, the focus is always on what works for you, not what is convenient for the provider.

What ILO Does Not Cover

It’s important to know what ILO funding doesn’t include. ILO does not cover:

  • Rent, mortgage, or bond payments.

  • Utilities such as water, electricity, and internet.

  • Everyday personal expenses like food, clothing, or entertainment.

  • Home or property modifications (these may be funded separately under the NDIS).

At 7Days Care WA, we guide you clearly through the inclusions and exclusions, so you always know how your NDIS funding is being used and where additional support might be needed.
